REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS – GORHAM community forest
PRLT is seeking proposals from qualified contractors or trail-building organizations to construct approximately three-quarters of a mile of natural surface trail, including approximately 1,200 linear feet of raised 8-foot-wide engineered boardwalk, and two scenic overlook areas at the Gorham Community Forest in Gorham, Maine.
Project Timeline:
RFP Issued: April 1, 2026
Proposal Deadline: April 27, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.
Bid Review / MTP Approval: May 2026 (approximate)
Notice to Proceed: May 2026 (approximate)
Construction Completion: November 15, 2026
All work must be substantially complete and ready for final inspection by November 15, 2026. PRLT anticipates issuing a notice to proceed in May 2026, following MTP program office review and approval of the awarded contract.
Proposals must be submitted electronically via email to Executive Director William Sedlack at will@prlt.org. Late submissions will not be considered. Questions regarding this RFP must be submitted in writing to the email address above no later than April 14, 2026. Responses to questions will be shared with all prospective bidders who have requested the RFP. PRLT will not respond to questions received after April 14, 2026.

Important Note: This project is funded in part by a Maine Trails Program (MTP) grant administered by the Maine Bureau of Parks and Lands, Grants and Community Recreation Program. All procurement must comply with MTP procurement requirements. Bid documents are subject to review and approval by the Grants and Community Recreation office prior to contract award. All contractor-produced signage, press releases, or published materials related to this project must identify MTP funding assistance per MTP program requirements.
