Trout Run Preserve

Gorham, 30 acres

Trout Run Preserve was conserved in October 2023. This Preserve is a generous gift of forestland by Julie Abbott. The conservation area consists of 3,500 feet of Little River and stream shoreline identified as wild brook trout habitat. In addition, it is part of one of the largest remaining undeveloped forest blocks (850 acres) near downtown Gorham. This forested landscape is important habitat for Ovenbird, Red-Shouldered Hawk, Ruffed Grouse, spotted turtle, Wood Thrush, wood turtle, and many declining species of migrating birds, amphibians, and pollinators.

Thank you so much to the nearly 200 supporters who generously donated to the Presumpscot Regional Land Trust in order to forever conserve this land.

This Preserve is in the homeland of the Wabanaki People. We respectfully acknowledge these People of the Dawn–past, present and future–and their connection to these lands and waters.
