Join PRLT and the Gulf of Maine Research Institute to practice identifying ash tree species, documenting signs/symptoms of emerald ash borer, and learning about seed collection.

This event is part of GMRI’s Community Science Program, in collaboration with the Ash Protection Collaboration Across Waponahkik (APCAW). "Protecting Ash for the Future: A Preservation-Focused Inventory Project" uses community observations to monitor the location and health of ash trees. Community volunteers can identify ash trees, document signs of the emerald ash borer, (an invasive species killing ash trees) and share signs of seeding. This effort supports traditional Indigenous practices and preservation of healthy ash trees.
