Join PRLT volunteer Natalie Skovran for a fall foliage hike through Mill Brook Preserve. Mill Brook Preserve gets the most visitors during the alewife migration in the spring, but it offers excellent hiking all year round – but don’t take our word for it, come see for yourself!

This will be a moderate hike, averaging 1.5-2 mph. The central section that connects the northern and southern parts of the preserve is particularly rugged and passes over steep hills above the brook. Total distance will be 6+ miles; after hiking 3 miles to the Frank C. Knight crossing and stopping for a snack break, the group will decide together whether to carry on to the southern trailhead (another mile each way) or turn around and head back.

The hike will leave from the Northern Trailhead, which is located at the intersection of Methodist Road and Route 302. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. This event is not recommended for young children unless they will be riding in a backpack carrier.
