Join Presumpscot Regional Land Trust with Natalie Skovran for a guided hike at Mill Brook Preserve. This will be a moderately paced hike, averaging 1.5 to 2 miles per hour. We’ll travel approximately 3 miles to the Southern Viewing pool at the Frank C. Knight Crossing, where we’ll pause to view alewives in the pool beneath the falls and enjoy a snack. Depending on group interest, we may choose to extend the hike an additional mile to the southern trailhead or retrace our steps back to the starting point. The hike will be close to 6 miles round trip. Please be aware that some portions of the trail run along steep riverbanks, which may be slippery if it has rained recently.
We’ll meet at the north trailhead, located at the intersection of Methodist Road and Route 302 in Westbrook. There is limited parking at the trailhead, with overflow parking available at Lenny’s, just up the road across from the gas station.
This event is geared for adults, children 11 and older welcome. Participants should be in good physical health and accustomed to regular aerobic activity, as this is considered a moderate-difficult hike. This event is free, but space is limited, and registration is required.
