Paddling the Presumpscot

We have created a digital paddling map to help you plan your trip on the water. Click here to view it.

The below map, courtesy of Casco Bay Estuary Partnership, shows the Sebago to the Sea Water Trail from Casco Bay to Sebago Lake (or anything in between). We recommend the following routes that are calm and don’t require any portages:

  • Put in at Hawkes Preserve landing in Gorham, paddle upriver to the base of Gambo Falls and then take out there or return to Hawkes (about 0.75 miles)

  • Put in at the Lincoln Street Landing in Westbrook, paddle up to 5 miles, and then return. This is the longest stretch of river between dams.

  • Put in at Shaw Park, paddle upriver as far as the Dundee Dam and then return.
