On Saturday, June 14th, a group of PRLT members joined Richard Curtis and Will Plumley (photo- above middle) for our 1st Annual Summer Walk. The walk was a great opportunity to walk along this beautiful trail along the Presumpscot River and its neighboring Oxford Towpath Canal, first developed in 1810 to be the primary transportation system for goods. The Hawkes Property is 43 acres forever protected, purchased and owned by the PRLT thanks to a 1998 fundraising campaign. Trail hikers enjoyed also the beaver sculpture below.
