Capacity Building Support Program grant award from Maine Coast Protection Initiative through Land Trust Alliance
In June 2007, the PRLT received a $10,000 Capacity Building Support Program grant award from the Maine Coast Protection Initiative through the Land Trust Alliance. The goal of this grant program is to build long-term strength and effectiveness in conserving and stewarding critical coastal lands. The Board was thrilled to receive this competitive grant and glad to be working more closely with the Land Trust Alliance. The Maine Coast Protection Initiative is a public-private partnership designed to increase the pace and quality of land protection by enhancing the capacity of Maine’s conservation community to preserve the unique character of Maine coast. This collaborative effort is led by the Land Trust Alliance, NOAA Coastal Services Center, Maine Coast Heritage Trust, the Maine State Planning Office, and a coalition of supporting organizations in Maine.
